Communication skills and mastering several foreign languages are key to success in today’s globalized world. As the Second Foreign Languages Department, our goal is to encourage and inspire our students to learn a new language, get to know its culture and respect cultural differences. We want our students to benefit today and in the future from the advantages of learning an additional foreign language and being a multilingual individual; we hope to lead them towards becoming global citizens.
It is essential to begin teaching foreign languages at an early age. This is why at TED Rönesans College, second foreign language learning begins at 4th grade. Students choose French, German, Russian or Spanish and receive two hours of classes in grades 4-5, three hours in grades 6-8 and four hours in high school.
The Second Foreign Languages program is organized in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The objectives and competencies defined in the program framework determine students’ language proficiency. In addition, we provide opportunities for our students to enter internationally recognized language examinations such as DELF (French), DELE (Spanish), FIT (German) and TORFL (Russian).
